    Description

Maps of El Dorado County, a classic slice of Northern California, stretching from the Sacramento suburbs through historic Gold Country, the majestic Sierra Nevada mountains to Lake Tahoe, on the Nevada border. Includes a vintage road map of the county (from Harry Freese, circa 1960), when it was still a rural wilderness with just 30,000 residents, before the existence of upscale suburban development or the city of South Lake Tahoe on the Nevada state line; and a street map of the built-up western part of the county (around El Dorado Hills, Cameron Park, Shingle Springs, Diamond Springs and the county seat, the old mining town of Placerville) (from J&H Publishing, 1997).
