This is a bronze of an eagle I originally found in Maryland some years ago. Plenty of dust hid it's beauty.
My last name means “of the eagle” so I felt destined to have it.
I have brought too many collectibles to my new house, though, and need to clear some things.
The bronze is 9” tall with the base having a diameter of 3.5”. It fits very nicely on a book shelf.
Weighs 2 pounds, 6 ounces.
The bronze is unsigned. It has a nice brownish patina.
The stone pedestal is green marble or granite.
It has felt on the bottom which I have never removed to look for signatures.
Condition
:
There are no issues with the bronze...no breaks, nice patina throughout.
The only thing I can point out is the indentation around the base....it seems like collected dust, but it doesn't come out with a toothbrush. I haven't wanted to try any chemicals to see if it comes off....I've just accepted it might have a different polish vs the smoother area.
