    Description

SOUTH BEND 9B and 9C METAL LATHE 100T Metric Conversion Gear
This is a high resolution (quality) 3d Printed plastic gear.
FYI: 3d printed Metric Change Gears have become a very popular alternative!
This gear has the original "tooth count" (100T) gear used by South Bend.
This allows cutting of metric pitches from 1.40 mm down to 0.20
when used in combination with the appropriate STUD gear.

I have ran 3d printed plastic gears against STEEL gears and other PLASTIC gears for MANY hours of use.
I have accidentally had SWARF sucked into the plastic gears. (Had to dig it out!)
I HAVE EPERIENCED NO MEASURABLE WEAR AND NO FAILURE TO DATE!
These gears seem to be REALLY TOUGH!
I have been very impressed and think you will be to!
    DISCLAIMER
    :
    I am
    POSITIVE
the 3d Printed Gears are NOT as durable as STEEL GEARS but serve the purpose and run real QUIET!
They also provide a "crash protection element".
In a severe crash I "assume" the plastic gear WILL SHED TEETH and protect other lathe components.
