    About Jim Beckwourth:
James Pierson Beckwourth, born James Beckwith and generally known as, Jim Beckwourth (April 26, 1798 or 1800 – October 29, 1866 or 1867) was an American mountain man, fur trader, and explorer. Jime was mixed race and was born into slavery in Virginia, he was freed by his father (and master) and apprenticed to a blacksmith; later he moved to the American West. As a fur trapper, he lived with the Crow Nation for years. He is credited with the discovery of Beckwourth Pass, through the Sierra Nevada (U.S.) Mountains, between present-day Reno, Nevada, and Portola, California, during the California Gold Rush years, and improved the Beckwourth Trail, which thousands of settlers followed to central California.
LEGENDS BRONZES WILL BECOME PRICELESS IN THE FUTURE. THE LEGENDS FOUNDERED PIECES MAY BE ONE OF THE LAST FOUNDERED MIXED METAL BRONZES EVER OFFERED. THECHILMARK FOUNDRY IS GONE, THE LEGENDS FOUNDRY IS GONE, MOST OF THE MONTANA FOUNDRYS ARE GONE, FEDERAL REGULATIONS, AND THE COST OF LABOR ARE MAKING IT TO HARD TO MAKE MONEY. THE LEGENDS PIECES WILL BE IN VERY SHORT SUPPLY IN THE NEXT 20 YEARS, WITH ALMOST NO PIECES ON THE MARKET LEAVING THE WESTERN ART MARKET WITH NO BRONZES. SOME ARE TRYING TO SELL PLASTIC, GLASS AND OTHER PIECES TODAY, BUT THE CHINA FACTORYS CAN MAKE THESE. THEY ARE NOT FOUNDERED MIXED METAL. MIXED METAL REQUIRES THE FOUNDRY TO FIRST FOUNDER THE PIECE, CHASE THE MOLDS, GRIND AND POLISH EDGES, THEN BACK TO HEATED FOUNDERING FOR GOLD, SILVER. AFTER THAT THEY HAVE TO CHASE AND POLISH. THE LAST STEP IS TO PAINT AND THEN HEAT THE PIECE AGAIN. THESE ARE WONDERFUL, BEAUTIFUL, AND HARD TO MAKE. 100 YEARS FROM NOW THEY WILL BE THE REMINGTONS OF OUR TIME.
Please refer to the photos to satisfy yourself of the condition of this fabulous sculpture. Acquired from the original owner and displayed in a smoke free home.

    About Christopher Pardell:
Christopher Pardell began sculpting at the tender age of four, and by his teenage years, Pardell had come to the realization that sculpting was to become his life's work. Influenced by the work of renowned sculptors Russell, Remington and Rodin, Pardell wanted to pursue his passion for realism. His formal education was laid aside in favor of an apprentice moldmaker position with a commercial statuary company, and it was there that he received what he considers to be his "real education in art." As an apprentice to the Italian master artisans who ran the statuary, Christopher rapidly learned the skills that would enable him to excel as an artist and earn the stature that has come with his success. Never sketching his designs on paper, Christopher composes all of his work in three dimensions, in a maquette. This unique approach explains the unparalleled beauty and detail that are the trademarks of his work. Christophers exceptional style and special talent have served to impress even the most discriminating collector. Currently, his artwork can be found in public and private collections throughout the world.
