You are viewing the King and Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. The doll bodies are made from the 50's. They both stand 17 inches tall. The Queen of Hearts was made from a Terri Lee doll. Terri Lee is pat pended on the back of the dolls back. The Queen of Hearts has ad her hair removed and a grey and white yard used for her hair. They both have home made clothes fashioned for them. The Queen has 2 under skirts and bloomers beneath her royal dress. She does not have shoes. (At heart, she's a country girl!) The King has a foam body and wears bloomers and stockings under his royal clothes and has his shoes. These dolls are one of a kind and we're made in a unique fashion.
They were created in a time when arts and crafts were alive and well in our country. They both appear to be in good condition. The Queen's head tips a bit because it does turn around in different positions and holds the pose you place her head in.The kings head does not turn and is made of rubber as well as hands.
