**READ** ; alright so this is kind of a special piece. I’ve been collecting the arsham editions for quite awhile. If you bought one of these at launch or have been waiting for one you know it’s taken A VERY LONG TIME for these to arrive.
It’s due to the fact they shipped from Hayden shapes in Australia. Not New York. They were insured to be sea worthy and actually functional by Hayden shapes employees.
Mine was rushed and the arsham fins were not ready yet. So the surfboard box is still factory sealed (with normal Hayden shapes fins I assume) and I received the set of arsham fins today (pictured)
Kind of a cool/interesting story and I will include the correspondence between myself/arsham studios and Hayden shapes with the board to whomever buys it.
I am a Long time collector of Daniel’s work
On this edition he collaborated very closely with haydenshapes to make sure his vision was fulfilled.
As it was described to me by a member of his studio team, personally to me verbatim;
“Carefully and thoughtfully designed between Hayden and Daniel, the studio felt that the Eroded Surfboard in particular deserved to live on our site as a true Arsham Edition. With Haydenshapes being a renowned company in the surfing world, we wanted to make sure that Daniel's vision for this work would be produced at the finest quality at their HQ in Mona Vale. Although our team was not able to fly out there due to covid, there were continuous samples and mockups shared and shipped between our studio and theirs to ensure that this work met the expectations of the studio. We hope you understand that our intention was to work with a reliable partner that could help realize Daniel's vision in creating a fully functioning surfboard edition.”
He wanted a piece of art that could be used in a world class surfing competition and that’s what was made.
