1700's Antique Framed Wedgwood Black Basalt Medallion/Bust Roman Emperor Galba  AD 69
Galba was Roman Emperor From AD 69, The First Emperor In The Year Of The Four Emperors.  He Was Known As Lucius Livius Galba Ocella, Prior To Taking The Throne As A Result Of His Adoption By His Stepmother, Livia Ocellina.  The Governor Of Hispania, At The Time Of The Rebellion Of Gaious Julius Vindex In Gaul, He Seized The Throne Following Nero's Suicide. Galba Was Murdered By Otho, Who Then Became Emperor.
This medallion is a rare piece of long-ago history (AD 68-69).  It Is Amazing Such Beauty Still Exists From This Era.  A Gorgeous, Intimate, And Rare Piece of Yesteryear's History.
Taking photographs of this work-of-art was difficult due to the protective glass cover, and the natural light's glare.

A few flea-sized nibbles throughout. Considering its age, this lovely medallion is in lovely condition. 4-1/4" x 3-1/4".
During the 40 years I've had this lovely work of art, it was stored in a smoke-free, pet-free home, as well as out of any and all sunlight.
