    Adding pond salt in small doses will help boost your koi's natural defenses to disease, stress, and nitrite toxicity. Mineral-rich tonic supports healthy gill function providing essential electrolytes with every breath, reducing the risk of stress-induced osmotic shock and even temporarily blocking the toxic effects of nitrite.
    Safe for fish and pond plants, as well as surrounding wildlife and pets when used as directed. For ornamental pond use only.
    NOTE: Once added to the pond, POND SALT does not evaporate and is not filtered out. So, add additional
    POND SALT with each water change. The addition of POND SALT is not recommended when topping off due to evaporation.
    Directions:

    Ponds with Plants: Add 1-1/4 cups of POND SALT for each 100 US gallons of pond water.

    Ponds without Plants: Add 2-1/2 cups of POND SALT for each 100 gallons of pond water
    Disease Treatment
    : Short-term salt baths are beneficial to kill external parasites and treat fungal infections. In a plastic container, dissolve 2-1/2 cups of POND SALT in 10 US gallons of pond water. Do not use tap water. Carefully place infected fish in the salt bath for 5 to 10 minutes, Do not leave fish in the salt bath for more than 10 minutes. Return the fish to the pond. Treatment may be repeated after 24 hours.

    Aquarium Instructions: add 1 table spoon per 10 gallons of fresh water.
    Pond Instructions:

    with Plants: Add 1-1/4 cups of POND SALT for each 100 US gallons of pond water.

    API Salt does not evaporate or filtered out, it can only be removed by water changes. So, there's no need to add salt due to evaporation. Recommended water change is 25% to 50% per week on heavily stock tank and every 2 weeks for medium stock tank. 25% per month on light stock tank.
    Performing a Bath
    Baths are essentially treating the entire tank, and are useful for treatment of stress, nitrite poisoning, as well as some parasites. Salt concentrations for a bath are lower, 1% or less, and are used for up to three weeks.
    Performing a Dip
    When treating parasites, a dip is the method of choice. Place four teaspoons of API pond salt in a clean bucket, then slowly add one gallon of water from the aquarium, swirling it to dissolve the API pond salt. Once the API pond salt is completely dissolved, place the fish in the bucket for five to thirty minutes.
